OIL PAINTING 60x80cm Reflections

This painting is called Reflections. You can take that literally: tree trunks that you see reflected in the water, as in this painting. But you can also mean it more figuratively: considerations, contemplations, thoughts.

In 2008 I painted tree trunks reflected in the water, on a small piece of paper. I had just started painting at the time and I was quite satisfied with it. So I thought: someday I want to paint this again, but on a large canvas.

When I came across the small painting again last year in a folder with old work, I decided to give it a try. But I never paint anything exactly. I always have way too many new ideas for that.
